This thread/topic is for discussion of sidechain designs for Monero.

Some people call this "L2". What matters is the actual architecture: consensus mechanism (like PoW, or PoS), peg design (getting funds in/out without breaking Monero's privacy guarantees), and how any smart-contract layer would preserve confidentiality (ZK vs TEE-based approaches, BFT/DAG ordering, etc.).
The CCS proposals for something similar went unfunded in 2025 (I forgot the exact MRs, you have to search them yourself).

My idea behind this thread is to get technical people gathering here to discuss the problems and exchange ideas that could benefit each other.
